Roles we hire
- Commercial Door Installer
Hollow metal and aluminum leaves, frames in masonry and partition walls, complete hardware sets, closers and exit devices, thresholds and gasketing. Own hand tools; we supply the rest. You will explain findings to facilities managers, so being able to say what failed and why matters as much as fitting it.
- Field Surveyor
Measuring, recording, photographing and reading labels. Precision outranks speed and the paperwork is the deliverable, not an afterthought. Suits somebody who would rather get it right than get it done.
- Hardware Scheduler
Reading architects' door schedules against what manufacturers actually build, and flagging conflicts before anything is ordered. Office-based with regular site visits. Distributor or specification-desk background is the obvious route in.
Non-negotiables
Requirements
- Eligibility to satisfy whatever North Carolina and South Carolina licensing the role calls for.
- A clean driving record and comfort working out of a van across two states.
- Willingness to write things down. Measurements, findings and what was done, on every visit, without being chased.
- Comfort talking to facilities managers and general contractors' superintendents directly.
- Ability to read a door schedule, or a genuine interest in learning to.
- Physical capability for frame work, which involves demolition, dust and awkward positions.
- Willingness to say you do not know, which is the single trait that keeps this business out of trouble.
On experience
On experience
Commercial door background helps, and it is not the only route in. This crew assembled from a distributor's specification desk, from commercial shell work and from low-voltage coordination. The one habit that travels badly here is swapping parts until a symptom disappears, because the method runs the other direction.
